A partir del iPhone 8 en adelante, Apple ha puesto todo su esfuerzo en mejorar el Face ID, siendo el único método de desbloqueo de sus dispositivos.
El Face ID es un sistema bastante completo que asegura que nuestro teléfono esté siempre protegido, haciendo que sea uno de los más confiables dentro del mundo de la telefonía móvil.
Pero debido a la pandemia este método de desbloqueo ha sido un gran problema para todos los usuarios del iPhone, debido a que, basa su reconocimiento en todos los rasgos de la cara, y al tener que llevar la mascarilla no es posible reconocerla. Apple quiso darle una solución a este problema, haciendo una actualización de software, en donde al detectar la mascarilla automáticamente nos pediría el código de desbloqueo.
Sin embargo esta no es una solución placentera para muchos usuarios, de hecho ha sido bastante criticada, ya que en dispositivos Android disponen de diferentes métodos de desbloqueo, entre ellos el de la huella dactilar, que sin lugar a dudas, es la mejor herramienta de desbloqueo biométrico para los tiempos que corren.
Es por esto que parece que Apple se encuentra trabajando en la incorporación del Touch ID en sus próximos dispositivos, según afirma una fuente bastante confiable.

Según vemos en el Tweet, Jon Prosser explica los nombres en clave que la fuente publica. «MESA» como vemos es el código que utiliza la empresa para referirse al Touch ID, y «uts» se refiere a la ubicación, que en este caso corresponde a «dentro de pantalla».
Entonces podríamos decir que ¿Apple está trabajando en incluir este sistema de desbloqueo en pantalla en sus próximos dispositivos?. Es sin lugar a dudas una idea razonable, aunque un poco tarde por parte de la compañía.
Si bien sabemos que la empresa ha dotado de uno de los mejores reconocimientos faciales a sus dispositivos, no entendemos como empresas no tan reconocidas y famosas a nivel mundial, han incluso igualado a Apple y no han prescindido del desbloqueo por huella dactilar.
Esperamos que esta empresa demuestre todas sus capacidades en los próximos dispositivos y que podamos disfrutar, así como en teléfonos Android, de la experiencia de la huella dactilar, sin prescindir de otros métodos de desbloqueo.
